Sales Boom

Ah this is what makes me happy, I have sold 2 dolls, 1 Matroyshka softie & 2 mini babushka brooches this week - makes all my sewing worthwhile.

A lovely lady called Jane purchased these 2 dolls for her friends new twins - cute!

bye-bye Lucy and you Sally
Once money had cleared first thing I did was post them out (obviously!) then drove down to my local Spotlight and spent all my "winnings"

They have some gorgeous new fat quarters in there that are made in India - makes a change from all the Chinese stuff.

I now have piles of lovely fabric - hmmm what to make, I actually feel like making myself a bag but have never done one before - I am sure the interweb will assist, I have found this rather cool looking bag from ricrac

Feck it, time to wash the dye off me hairs - a multi-tasker :-)

Me Hearties

Here are some little heart ornaments I am crafting for Island Bay fair I'm thinking $12 for 3 maybe. Now I just need to find a little tree or something sweet to dispay them on...

brown one set of 3 grey ones...and a white one ...

Craft 2.0

Just been to Craft 2.0 at The Dowse with Julie - we went to the last one in April and I hate to say it but it was a little "the same". Same people in the same spots - where are all the new crafters out there?

I did apply for a stall at this Craft 2.0 but wa unsuccessful apparently due to too many people and not enough space - hmmm more like too many of the same people and no space for newbies.

Very disappointing not to find new lovely things to buy and most things are SOOOO expensive, I mean really, who wants to spend over $30 bucks at a craft fair?

I did buy a draft stopper - a snake - I love it, so well made with such lovely fabrics and $20 -ideal and realistic price - thanks very much will pop a pic up when the light is better.

Apres the fair we went to Global Fabrics in town who are having 30% off sale - rummaged in the bargain bins and picked up some lovely wool & denim - hmmmm what to make!!!

Evo

Had to share these pics of my little girl's new ringlets - I have dead straight hair and her Dad has none so must be from the gene pool somewhere along the line :-)

She is such a poser!

Baby Babushka

Here is a new doll for my upcoming stall - I needed a new baby gift that has no small parts so came up with this. My neighbour Julie gave me some gorgeous pink fleece and it looks lovely as a doll.

Hmmm need something new to sew... just saw this fabric flower tutorial and have plenty of scraps to use up ...watch this space :-)

I've also been working on some new brooches and wanted to come up with something more grown-up and not aimed at kids ... hard to see from these pics but here is me prototype - also doesnt help that you have to tilt your head to see it properly!
They're made from felt.

Island Bay Craft Village

Stichbury's new craft village starts on 8 Aug - I have a boat load of sewing to do because after this on 12 Sep I have a fundraiser for the local creche - hmmm Eva is still on their waiting list 1 year on...maybe a doll and some cute bribes would work???

Here is a flyer for the craft village

Creative spaces

I decided to tackle my sewing room, it has been such a mess and I haven't been feeling very crafty at all.

I managed to rope my Mum in to assisting and putting boxes up in the loft to give me more room.

All I seem to do is move 1 box of cr@p to another location without ever sorting through it. Some of my cr@p has been across the world on a number of occassions ;-) and back again.

I can now fit my feet under my table and find my pedal!

A trolley of nearly finished stuff...A new batch of Little Teds - just after taking this shot I sold two on my felt site - yippee

When Eva sleeps I sew.

Last couple of days has seen the return of the afternoon nap - hoozah.

I just managed to sew up 3 elephants and another love bird ... great way to use up scraps of fabric, if only it was Easter I have the perfect gift ;-)

Perched on the window sill...

In amongst the scrap ...

Feck it, I really should be sewing up some stock but I seem to get very easily distra ...

New Designs

My daughter doesn't like hairclips she is partial to a 'pony' but thats about it. Even so I have decided to venture in to the world of felt covered clips ... I love these colours of felt I picked up at Nancy's.

Hairclips aside, I still have an unhealthy obsession with Babushka and Kokeshi dolls. These little fridge magnets are a combo of the two ... what do you think?

Wee Kokeshi Doll pin I made for Eva ....

Love Bird

Grrr to the elephants ... I am trying to stitch 10 elephants for my next stall but the fleece I bought keeps jamming under the machine grrrrrr very frustrating.

This pick is of a red one that went right and consequently sold at my last craft fair...

So frustrated was I that I said NO to Coro St and looked at all my fave blogs instead.

Just made a little Love Bird from Molly Chicken's blog - thank you thank you thank you, this little birdie is too cute - will upload a pic when I am less tired ( & frustrated)

And I finished my felt pouch at long last - finally worked out I just need to cut a slit for a button so no more faffing with different types of closures - phew.
